Victoria Calvert Kappel is the Executive Director of Arts at the Palace (AATP), located at the Palace Theater in Hamilton.
Calvert Kappel was the Executive Director of the Chenango Arts Council in Norwich from 1999 to her retirement in 2014. Prior to that, she was the Executive Director of HealthWorks Theatre, an award winning professional theatre company in Chicago that presented original issues-based plays on HIV/AIDS prevention, prenatal care and youth violence prevention.
Other work experiences include Director of Marketing for the Memorial Recreation and Education Foundation in Munster, IN; Executive Director of Midsummer Mime Theatre in Indianapolis, IN; Executive Director of the Indiana Theatre Association; Director of Special Projects for the Metropolitan Arts Council of Indianapolis; and assistant to the executive director for the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis.
As a professional actress, Calvert Kappel has performed in numerous commercials, training films, and plays in Chicago, Indianapolis, and elsewhere. She is a member of Actors Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild/American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
A native of Indiana, Calvert Kappel holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hanover College in Indiana with a double major in theatre and music. She was married for 27 years to Martin W. Kappel, a theatre director, performer and teacher, in whose memory the theater at the Arts Council was renamed in 2006. She has two sons.
