We’re especially delighted to present Rick Montalbano and Julie Falatico Montalbano as our first artists in the series, because their April Jazz at Noon performance at the Palace Theater Underground did not take place due to the pandemic.

Recently wed Julie Falatico and Rick Montalbano have their musical roots planted firmly in Jazz and Great American Songbook traditions, while expanding their talents into the Funk, Latin and Neo-Soul realms. Their captivating performances transport audiences through time as they apply 40-plus years of experience, musicianship, and creativity to a century of great music.

Julie and Rick are in the midst of their first album collaboration “One Heart” and perform in a variety of musical venues throughout New York State and beyond.

Music is Rick Montalbano’s life. He began a long career as keyboardist, composer, arranger and Jazz Educator in the 1960s and has played with a virtual who’s who of the Jazz and Entertainment World.

Sammy Award nominee Julie Falatico began her musical pursuits in Los Angeles and Cleveland, singing with some of the country’s best musicians before returning to her roots in Upstate New York in the early 2000s. Julie’s warm, sultry voice blends beautifully with Rick’s masterful keyboard skills. Together they bring their audiences on an engaging, inspiring and intimate musical journey.

Jazz at Noon is an eight-month jazz series (September-April) that brings together a diverse group of artists—from the seasoned pro to the newly-emerging—to collaborate, entertain, and inspire in the intimate setting of the Palace Underground. Due to current COVID-19 guidelines, we’ve reimagined the series in a virtual format.

Jazz at Noon ORIGINALS is made possible in part from a grant from the Central New York Community Foundation.
