Arts at the Palace is pleased to announce it has received a $3,000 grant from The Gifford Foundation. These funds will support the project Learn to Play Guitar with Ed Vollmer, scheduled to launch at the Palace Theater this summer, as well as an enhanced website to help expand the capacity of the organization.

Learn to Play Guitar is a music education program offering group lessons for youth and adults. Beginners’ classes are planned for the summer, and advanced beginners’ classes will be available in the fall. There will be a fee for participating in the classes as well as help with scholarships. Participants will have the option of borrowing a guitar and all of the necessary gear needed for the class at no extra cost. More details about dates, times, and fees for the classes will be announced in June.

Arts at the Palace has also received support from the Hamilton Community Chest to support the Learn to Play Guitar program, which will fund some of the equipment needed for the project.

Last summer, Arts at the Palace partnered with musician and educator Ed Vollmer to offer a Learn to Play Guitar virtual video series, which received rave reviews. “We’re thrilled to be able to expand this program at Arts at the Palace this year,” said Elizabeth Douglas, Executive Director. “Many community members have expressed interest in group guitar classes, and we are so grateful to have support from The Gifford Foundation and the Hamilton Community Chest to make it happen.”
