Podcast Series Partnership with the Village of Hamilton Historical Commission
Street by Street seeks to explore and document the genius loci (spirit of the place) of the Village of Hamilton, NY. With a rich memory of a rerouted canal, stagecoaches, railway lines, and a great fire, Hamiltonians have stories to tell about the people, buildings, and events that have made a community.
The current pandemic has brought many stories about the past and present to light in online conversations and socially-distant encounters outdoors on the streets, where folks have been spending more time than ever. Capturing this information in the form of spoken word digital podcasts will be a way to preserve a village’s history at a time of challenge and change.
Street by Street podcast recordings will be broadcast on the Arts at the Palace website and will later be preserved in the Village of Hamilton historical archives.
Stay tuned for more information about this exciting project!
