The historic Palace Theater is available to rent for live performances of theater, music, and dance along with rehearsals, corporate meetings, fundraisers, special events, and celebrations. Located in the heart of Hamilton, NY, the Palace is nestled among charming downtown boutiques, galleries, and eateries. We offer competitive rates, flexible seating, unique spaces, expert technical services, elevator for accessibility, large restrooms, private dressing room spaces, and optional promotion on Arts at the Palace’s website and social media if desired.

MAIN FLOOR

  • Main floor area is 40′ x 45′
  • Main stage is 25′ x 24′ with a 11′ x 11′ pit band area

MEZZANINE

The retro-designed Mezzanine boasts large second-floor windows that overlook the village of Hamilton. It’s the perfect place for gatherings of up to 75 people. The Mezzanine features the following amenities:

  • Bar with sinks and refrigerator
  • Versatile seating options

UNDERGROUND

The cozy, atmospheric Palace Underground seats approximately 50 people with a maximum occupancy of 80. The Underground features the following amenities:

  • Corner stage (approximately 12’ x 13’)
  • Sound and lighting system
  • Kitchen
  • Green room
  • Cocktail/dining tables and chairs

RENTAL FEES & POLICIES

Rental of the Palace Theater is priced per hour (3-hour minimum), with a discount offered for long-term or repeated events. This fee includes:

  • One onsite AATP staff member
  • Basic technical equipment and support from our technical director
  • Set-up and use of our tables and chairs
  • Black tablecloths if needed (except on cocktail tables, which have a black or chrome surface)
  • Basic cleaning fee (the space must be left as found)
  • Additional fees can include supplemental technical support, special equipment rental, security personnel, and supplemental cleaning fees if required.

All rentals require a certificate of liability insurance (organizations), or proof of homeowner’s liability policy to cover offsite gatherings (individuals). Colgate University departments and student groups are covered under a blanket certificate of liability insurance provided to Arts at the Palace annually.

The kitchen is available for use only by licensed, permitted caterers and AATP staff. Food, beverages, and alcohol may not be brought in or served except by a licensed, permitted caterer.
