LIFE LONG LEARNING: Considering How Trauma Affects The Brain And the Individual: Being a Trauma Informed Supporter of Others - Session 1

Trauma comes in many forms and most people have experienced some sort of trauma during their lives. Trauma effects us all differently, but there are some things we know about the brain that better inform us about to expect when somebody is traumatized. This course will help you better understand what happens in the brain when somebody endures trauma and how it may effect the ways that they behave and interact with others.

PRESENTER: Dawn LaFrance and Michelle Passonno work at Haven, Colgate’s sexual violence resource center. Michelle has had many years of experience in sexual violence prevention and education. Dawn is a clinical physiologist who specializes in helping people heal from trauma.
