WHERE DID ALL THE STARS GO - Sept. 18th @ 4pm

Artificial light obscures the Milky Way for more than 33% of the world’s population and 80% of North America’s. As a result, generations of kids are growing up with no connection or awareness of the night sky. In this course, we will discuss the physics of light, dark-sky friendly lighting practices, and what we can all do to reconnect to the night sky.

Presenter: Jeff Bary is a professional astronomer and is currently involved in a dark sky preservation project in rural Appalachia.Events and courses are offered by the LifeLong Learning Program, an organization sponsored by Colgate's Upstate Institute.

Most of our classes occur at The Palace Theater in Hamilton, NY. All classes are open to non-members for a $5 fee.

If you would like to become a member or if you have questions about the status of your membership, please email llp@colgate.edu.

All classes are live and in-person. We will not be recording sessions.
