We hear this a lot! “The Steel Guitars” 2024 Annual Appeal
“What’s happening at The Palace?”
We hear this a lot!
Let's RE-introduce you... In 2022 we started to ask the question "What if we stopped asking how to gather AUDIENCES and started asking how to gather ARTISTS?" With the help of our board members & friends at scrap paper social we began to find the words to match this new purpose:
"Arts At The Palace is Madison County NY’s destination for artist empowerment through mentoring, workshops, and collaboration.
We provide rural artists and creators the support, facilities, and expertise to create, develop, and present new projects.
This focus on artistic development provides a dynamic creative hub where the surrounding community can benefit from enriching cultural experiences, events, and performances."
Today, the answer is clear: Arts at the Palace is a Community Arts Center. When we began to focus on artist empowerment, what we offered pivoted entirely: Providing a space to host artists and giving them access to professional level equipment for their creative work now looks like workshops, dances, theatre productions, lectures, music mixing, showcases, studio recording sessions and a lot of live music!
Because the truth is, rural CNY has an incredible wealth of talent and when we simply provide the resources & space for artists to connect, belong & practice their craft, we're left with a healthier, more whole community.
In turn, by investing in local artists, the audiences came in numbers! We are proud to say that this past year we held 65 events, attended by nearly 2,000 individuals and involved over 250 artists.
MEET THE ARTISTS
“Heritage Farm”
During our 2024 Annual Appeal we would like to introduce you to some of the incredible artists we've worked with this past year!
Meet Dexter, William, Dan and Mike -- Our friends from Heritage Farm, who participated in a 6-week-long Community Inclusion Project, a program centered around neurodiversity, where they were introduced to the process of songwriting and music production. We had so much fun providing the space, equipment and leadership to create meaningful memories together!
Thank you again to our Board Member Regina Conti in the department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Colgate University, who helped create this unique collaboration with Heritage Farm and Colgate University.
